There’s a party going on right here, a celebration to last throughout…
Ahem. Sorry about that.
Today, Living Behind the Curve hit 100 subscribers! It’s a big milestone for new-ish bloggers like us, so thank you all for following our crazy journey for the last 3+ months. To celebrate, and to recap for those of you just turning in, here are my 11 favorite posts in LBtC history, “behind-the-music” style.
- WTFBBQ
This was our introductory recipe in the SRSLY series. What started out as a side note to a simplicity and frugality blog has become our most popular series, hands-down. One of my all-time favorite foods is barbecue chicken with corn and rice, and this recipe satisfies my cravings. It’s what we had for dinner last night.
- iLuddite and Revenge of iLuddite
Mer takes on the iPod and the iPhone, and comes out on top. - How to Throw a Fabulous $25 Dinner Party
The budget was low, the food was divine, but most importantly, we had an excellent time. Recipes included. - Frugal for One: Can a Single Person Eat Frugally?
I see this topic revisited again and again on personal finance blogs - how can anyone, much less a single person, spend less on food and eat frugally? It is possible, and this post talks about how. - Sweatin’ to the Low-Calorie, Fat-Free, South Beach, Cabbage Soup Finances
Life lessons are everywhere, if you’re looking. I found simplicity and frugality lessons in diet trends, and I really do believe in the Richard Simmons effect. - Savings. Catfights. Wesley Crusher.
In our first speedlinking post, I linked to a series of articles that started at Violent Acres and is still going, as far as I can tell. (We still get daily traffic from that post.) - “That’ll Do, Donkey, That’ll Do.”
Rocking the boat in one of our first 11 Things posts, I posted a list of things that we could do more frugally, but choose not to do. And yes, I was watching Shrek at the time. - How to Increase Your Site Traffic Without Even Trying (Stupid Walrus Edition)
Why? Because I’m still intrigued by the walrus. - Free Software Roundup: Not all Software is Created Equal
This is the post that inspired Mer’s Ubuntu guide (parts one and two so far), which in turn inspired Open Source Home to go open-source and blog about it. Inspiration rocks. - 11 Simple Kitchen Solutions that Really Work
It really is that simple - stock your kitchen with 11 of the simplest tools out there. - It’s a tie. No, really - I couldn’t decide what to include, and what to leave out, so you get them all:
- 11 Things You Can Do To Make Cooking SRSLY Easy
- Techniques that Guarantee Career Happiness
- Escaping the Email Burden
- 11 Steps to Financial Freedom
- Sweet and Sour Shin Kicker
There you have it, folks. The best (IMHO) of Living Behind the Curve so far. Stick around - it can only get better from here. Thank you all for coming. Feel free to raid the fridge.
